This picture was taken @ 1920 in Gridley California. Robin's father, Carl, is the young boy with his parents Per Johan and Maria Louisa Hagberg. They had settled in Northern California after emmigrating from Sweden via Canada. As I post more pictures of Hagbergs of this generation you will see the family resemblance.
Remember the title of this Blog is Hagberg Family History so don't expect to see any pretty little pictures of my grandchildren or find some wonderful new recipe for chocolate onions.
Today in my research in Genline (my Swedish connection) I found a family of 7 children that connects with one of the brothers of one of our ancestors...born 1855. In the past few months I have added over 200 names to my PAF program. Our next goal is to process them through Temple Ready and get the Temple cards printed. Any of the Hagberg Children or grandchildren (of June and Carl) is invited to request some of these cards with the promise to do the work quickly and return the card back to us with stamped info. Also a copy(a floppy disk)of our PAF program is available for the asking. Let us know if you are interested in helping us further the work.

Here is another picture of the Red House "Storehagen" in Seglora. Storehagen means, broadly, big farm...like lilla hagen would mean little farm.

This picture was taken after 1910, when Per Johan and Maria Louisa and baby Carl (Robin's father) would have sailed to America. The family is that of Adolph, the next oldest brother. When Per left Sweden the ownership of the house and land fell to Adolph. The next in line was Adolph's oldest son who left it to his "wife" and then it went down her family of girls. At this time Helen and Hans own it and are living in it for a second home. They live in the city of Goteborg which is nearby.

OK... let's try it again!

The picture of the Red House may be recognized by most of you as the house in Sweden where the Hagbergs lived. (Of our last two years Christmas Cards) I'm talking about Robin's grandfather, Per Johan and his brothers and sisters.

When we were in Sweden a year and a half ago we got to stay in that area for two weeks and even spent the night in the "very" house. We walked all over the property and walked to the schoolhouse and church and along the Whisper River where the children would have played and fished.

Our trip back this year will be to share the experience with Robin's brother Lowell and sister Gay and their spouses. We are so excited to return and see many more places in our family history. I have been studying my research and maps so we can travel a bit farther out and see
more. We will rent a car so we will not be a burden on Cousin Lian who was so good to take time off her work to take us around to meet more cousins and visit "our" historical spots.
Elesa was showing me how to start a Blog and here I am on my own and don't know how to change the first post.

I don't suppose I can fool you into thinking that is all in Swedish...didn't think so!

I think it was just to show me how it would appear on the screen and etc. I really didn't listen well and find myself "lost" in trying to change it and do it by myself.
